About the role
We are seeking an Engineer II specialized in design and modeling to join our advanced technology team in Abu Dhabi. The role focuses on performing finite element analysis (FEA) and structural simulations to support the development and validation of mechanical and vehicle systems for defense applications.
Key responsibilities
- Collaborate with senior engineers and design teams to define analysis requirements, load cases, and acceptance criteria.
- Conduct static, dynamic, modal/vibration, thermal, and thermo‑mechanical analyses.
- Perform fatigue, buckling, nonlinear, and contact analyses, including meshing strategy and convergence checks.
- Execute engineering calculations, load‑path assessments, structural sizing, and factor‑of‑safety evaluations.
- Assess stress, strain, deformation, stiffness, natural frequencies, durability, and structural margins, recommending design improvements.
- Support design optimization, weight reduction, failure investigation, and root‑cause analysis.
- Correlate FEA results with physical testing and assist in prototype validation and qualification.
- Prepare analysis reports and present technical recommendations during design reviews.
Required profile
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Proven experience with FEA tools and structural simulation of mechanical/vehicle systems.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.
- Familiarity with defense‑related blast, shock, and impact analysis is an advantage.
- Knowledge of materials, GD&T, manufacturing processes, welding/fabrication, and DFM/DFA is beneficial.
- Experience with CAD/PLM, reverse engineering, 3D scanning, and 3D printing is a plus.
