Estimator (Fitout)

About the role

Bond Interiors delivers interior fit-out and turnkey solutions across commercial, retail, hospitality and residential sectors in the UAE. The Estimator works closely with Project Managers to determine the costs of completing the scope of work in a tender, and prepares quantity take-offs, cost estimates, bid bonds and communicates with sub-trades about the financial needs of the project.

Key responsibilities

• Assess each tender's type, client and closing date to prioritize them
• Analyse drawings, specifications and other documentation to prepare comprehensive cost estimates, using similar past projects for comparison where needed
• Calculate material quantities from dimensions and density
• Prepare, issue, receive and review supplier and subcontractor proposals and pricing
• Coordinate with the client on scope changes and clarifications during bidding
• Support project management after award and during construction phases with cost information and estimates for changes
• Review budget and project profitability with the project team and seek ways to improve cost accuracy

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Interior Design, Architecture or a related field
• 3-5 years of estimation experience, preferably in interior fit-out in the UAE/GCC
• Proven experience with quantity take-offs, cost estimates and tender submissions for commercial, retail, hospitality or residential fit-outs
• Knowledge of fit-out materials, finishes, joinery, MEP interfaces and construction methods

Required skills

• MS Excel and estimation/take-off software such as PlanSwift, Bluebeam or CostX
• Ability to read AutoCAD drawings
• Strong analytical and numerical skills, attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations
• Time management under tight deadlines and good communication with clients, consultants and project teams
