Estimator - Furniture Projects

About the role

Careers International is hiring a full-time Estimator in Dubai for the furniture sector. The role covers preparing estimates and bills of quantities for projects, working with clients and consultants before award, and coordinating with suppliers, operations and sales.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare estimates and bills of quantities for projects received.
• Assist with production feasibility studies and estimates from minimal design information to detailed cost plans.
• Interface with clients and consultants in the pre-award stage.
• Handle major strategic procurement: identify approved materials, verify quantities against the plan versus actual, and coordinate with suppliers and clients to reduce costs.
• Work with the operation manager and the business development team, and advise on supply constraints, forecasts and alternative products.
• Push through order scheduling, report order status, and monitor and prepare cost variations.
• Verify and certify supplier and vendor invoices and quotes.

Required profile

• Diploma in Civil or Mechanical Engineering.
• At least 3 years of work experience in furniture, upholstery or curtain companies.
• Good contacts in the UAE market.

Required skills

• Excellent knowledge of estimation software.
• Excellent knowledge of AutoCAD, SketchUp, Excel and 3ds Max.
