Estimator – Sheet Metal Fabrication

About the role

Safario Group is seeking an experienced Estimation Engineer to join its Sheet Metal Fabrication department in Umm Al Quwain, UAE. The role involves reviewing customer drawings and RFQs, calculating material and production costs, and preparing accurate, competitive quotations.

Key responsibilities

• Review customer RFQs, BOQs, 2D drawings, 3D models and technical specifications.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates for sheet metal projects, including raw material, machine‑hour, labor‑hour, tooling and overhead costs.
• Calculate material utilization, nesting, scrap percentages and processing times for CNC laser cutting, turret punching, press‑brake bending, welding, grinding, finishing, powder coating and painting.
• Obtain supplier pricing, maintain updated costing data, and produce commercial quotations.
• Coordinate with Production, Design, Purchasing and Sales to verify technical and commercial requirements and address potential manufacturing challenges.

Required profile

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (mandatory).
• 4–6 years of estimation/costing experience in sheet metal fabrication or related manufacturing.
• Practical knowledge of mild steel, stainless steel, aluminium and common sheet‑metal materials.
• Experience with CNC laser cutting, turret punching, press‑brake bending and related processes.
