Executive Director, FX & Rates Trading

About the role

The Executive Director will lead the emerging market FX and rates trading desk, overseeing transaction structuring, execution, risk analysis and profitability. The role combines strategic direction with hands‑on mentorship of junior traders while ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulators.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver business strategy, manage customer flow and exceed budget targets.
• Expand product offerings, improve processes and mentor junior staff.
• Provide pricing support, work with sales to develop client franchise and accompany sales on customer visits.
• Collaborate with quant teams to refine pricing and valuation curves.
• Produce market commentaries and trade recommendations as needed.
• Work closely with risk teams to align mandates with FAB’s risk appetite.
• Lead and mentor junior staff, ensuring financial and business objectives are met.
• Maintain strong relationships with counterparties, brokers and market participants.

Required profile

• Minimum degree in Accounting, Economics, Banking, Financial Management or equivalent.
• At least 8 years of relevant market experience in similar senior positions.
• Strong understanding of global FX and rates products and market‑making techniques.
• Proven ability to manage risk effectively and deliver consistent financial performance.
• Knowledge of relevant regulations, jurisdictions and compliance requirements.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Office proficiency, including VBA and macro development.
• Bloomberg terminal expertise.
• Strong analytical and quantitative capabilities.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
