Facade Designer - Glass & Aluminium

About the role

NEXA Engineering Consulting is hiring an experienced Facade Designer specialising in glass and aluminium for its growing team in Dubai. The role covers high-rise and super high-rise residential buildings, producing detailed, technically compliant facade shop drawings and design packages that align with project specifications, applicable codes and approved design requirements. The joining date should be immediate or within 30 days.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed facade shop drawings, sections, elevations and construction details for glass and aluminium facade systems.
• Work on curtain wall, cladding, aluminium windows and structural glazing systems for high-rise and super high-rise residential projects.
• Develop facade details from tender and design development through construction and as-built documentation.
• Coordinate with architectural, structural and MEP teams to resolve design clashes and technical issues.
• Review facade systems, materials, specifications and technical submissions for compliance with project requirements.
• Coordinate with facade contractors, suppliers and project teams to ensure design accuracy and buildability.
• Ensure compliance with UAE building codes, authority requirements and relevant international standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Civil, Mechanical or Architectural Engineering, or Architectural Technology.
• Proven experience in facade design and detailing for high-rise and super high-rise residential buildings in the UAE/GCC.
• 5-10 years of facade design experience, with a minimum of 3 years of UAE/GCC experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of curtain wall systems, aluminium cladding, windows and structural glazing.
• Familiarity with aluminium extrusions, thermal breaks, glass specifications, brackets, anchors, sealants and fire-stopping details.
• Understanding of wind loads, thermal and acoustic performance and facade testing requirements.
• Knowledge of the Dubai Building Code, UAE authority requirements and international standards such as ASTM, EN, AAMA and CWCT.

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Experience with Revit and other facade design software is an advantage.
