Field Operator – Petrochemical Plant

About the role

The Field Operator will support the safe and efficient operation of a large petrochemical/fertilizer/gas‑based DRI plant in Abu Dhabi. Working closely with the control room, you will ensure equipment turnover for maintenance, maintain housekeeping standards and uphold safety procedures on the shop floor.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out assigned field activities according to control‑room directives and ensure safe turnover of equipment for maintenance.
• Monitor pumps, compressors, turbines and other field equipment, taking timely action to prevent breakdowns.
• Log field data, identify abnormalities and adjust valve positions as required by the process.
• Implement housekeeping and safety measures, and communicate any deviations to the Senior Field Operator or shift supervisor.
• Participate in plant shutdown, start‑up and emergency handling procedures.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years experience in large petrochemical, fertilizer or gas‑based DRI plants.
• At least 3 years operating large pumps, compressors and turbines.
• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
• Excellent command of English.
• Experience with gas‑based HYL DRI and hot‑discharge HYL plant operations.
