Field Service Technician - Volvo Construction Equipment

About the role

A skilled Field Service Technician is sought to support the maintenance, repair, inspection and troubleshooting of Volvo construction equipment across customer sites in Dubai. The role ensures machine reliability, minimises downtime and delivers high-quality technical support to customers.

Key responsibilities

• Perform removal, installation, disassembly and assembly of major machine components such as engines, transmissions and axles.
• Diagnose and repair hydraulic, electrical, engine and transmission systems using approved service procedures and technical documentation.
• Conduct machine inspections and identify maintenance requirements to support equipment reliability and service opportunities.
• Interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams and service documentation to complete repairs accurately.
• Complete preventive maintenance and corrective repairs in line with manufacturer standards and operating procedures.
• Maintain accurate service records, job cards and timesheets.
• Communicate with customers, supervisors and colleagues about repair status, findings and recommendations.
• Support knowledge sharing and give technical guidance to team members when needed.
• Follow health, safety and workplace standards and adapt to changing priorities within agreed timelines.

Required profile

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or engineering degree; minimum 3-5 years of hands-on experience maintaining and repairing Volvo or construction equipment.
• Valid UAE driving licence.
• Experience in construction or heavy equipment maintenance or repair; Volvo equipment experience strongly preferred.
• Good written and spoken English.

Required skills

• Strong technical knowledge of engines, transmissions, axles, hydraulics and electrical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Diagnostic and troubleshooting experience across hydraulic, electrical, engine and transmission systems.
• Experience conducting equipment inspections and identifying maintenance needs.
• Attention to detail, quality standards and commitment to workplace safety.
