Field Test Engineer (m/f/d)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Field Test & Integration Engineer to support the validation and deployment of an autonomous ground‑robotics platform. You will work across the full validation lifecycle, from sensor calibration to field testing and technical reporting, collaborating closely with cross‑functional engineering teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design and execute test plans, field campaigns, and acceptance criteria based on system requirements.
• Perform end‑to‑end testing of hardware, software, and integrated subsystems in controlled and real‑world environments.
• Support hardware‑software integration, including subsystem bring‑up, sensor integration, and onboard compute configuration.
• Conduct intrinsic and extrinsic calibration of LiDAR, cameras, IMU, and GNSS/GPS and validate calibration accuracy.
• Tune navigation and control parameters, validate SLAM, mapping, and localization performance.
• Operate and maintain robotic platforms in diverse field conditions, ensuring safety and equipment readiness.

Required profile

• Strong hands‑on technical capability combined with field experience on autonomous robotic systems.
• Comfortable configuring ROS launch files and working with ROS1/ROS2 communication mechanisms.
• Proven ability to execute test campaigns, capture performance metrics, and produce structured technical reports.
• Experience working in outdoor or semi‑structured terrain environments.
