Finance Associate

About the role

Alpheya, a B2B WealthTech startup in Abu Dhabi, is seeking a Finance Associate to manage day‑to‑day accounting, ensure audit‑ready books, and support UAE VAT and Corporate Tax compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries, manage accruals, pre‑payments, depreciation and fixed‑asset transactions, and support month‑end close.
• Process supplier invoices, customer invoicing, and perform AP/AR reconciliations, bank reconciliations, and resolve reconciling items.
• Ensure purchase and sales invoices meet UAE VAT requirements, prepare quarterly VAT working papers, and support corporate tax compliance.
• Record transactions and maintain data accuracy in NetSuite, generate reports and saved searches.
• Prepare audit schedules, respond to external auditor queries, and follow internal controls.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Commerce.
• 3–4 years of hands‑on accounting experience, preferably with UAE or GCC exposure.
• Strong understanding of double‑entry accounting, accruals and month‑end close processes.
• Familiarity with NetSuite (or ability to learn quickly).
• Knowledge of UAE VAT and Corporate Tax regulations.
• Proficiency in Excel (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, pivot tables, formulas).
• Fluent written and spoken English and ability to meet month‑end deadlines.
