Finance Director – Real Estate

About the role

The Finance Director will lead the financial function of a diversified real‑estate portfolio, overseeing development and operational assets. Reporting to senior executive management, the role shapes strategy, drives performance and ensures disciplined investment decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the financial strategy, including planning, forecasting and performance management.
• Support executive decisions on acquisitions, developments and other investment opportunities.
• Manage the full financial lifecycle of development projects – budgets, cash‑flows, escrow accounts and payments.
• Oversee treasury activities, liquidity planning and banking relationships; negotiate project finance, refinancing and restructuring.
• Lead budgeting, long‑term financial planning and the creation of financial models and feasibility studies.
• Review commercial contracts, provide input on investment structuring and support negotiation processes.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, internal controls and statutory reporting; coordinate audits.

Required profile

• Proven senior finance leadership experience, preferably at Finance Director level.
• Extensive background in real‑estate finance covering development and operational assets.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and financial control frameworks.
• Demonstrated ability to manage treasury functions and negotiate project finance.
• Track record of building and interpreting complex financial models and feasibility studies.
• Experience in budgeting, forecasting and long‑term planning in a multi‑asset environment.
• Commercially astute with experience supporting investment structuring and contract negotiations.
• Hands‑on leadership style suited to a complex real‑estate organization.
