Financial Controller

About the role

Our client, a regional market leader in the oil & gas sector, is seeking a Financial Controller / Head of Accounting to lead end‑to‑end accounting operations across multiple international entities. The role will drive financial governance, support commercial activities and introduce AI‑enabled process improvements.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting activities, ensuring accuracy, timeliness and compliance with IFRS.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and deliver P&L, balance‑sheet and variance analysis.
• Manage working capital, cash‑flow forecasting and liaise with treasury.
• Lead accounts receivable and payable teams across international markets, improving collection cycles and payment processing.
• Supervise product costing, margin analysis and inventory valuation for raw materials, WIP and finished goods.
• Act as primary contact for internal and external audits and ensure tax, VAT and regulatory compliance.
• Develop and mentor a team of six accountants, fostering a high‑performance culture.
• Partner with sales and supply‑chain functions to provide financial insight and support commercial decisions.

Required profile

• Degree in Finance or Accounting with a professional qualification (ACCA, CPA or CMA).
• 10+ years of accounting experience, including leadership roles, preferably in manufacturing, FMCG or downstream oil & gas.
• Strong commercial mindset and ability to work in a fast‑paced, multi‑market environment.
• Proven track record of process improvement and team management.
