Financial Controller

About the role

The Financial Controller will oversee cash flow, financial planning, forecasting, reporting and budget management for Al Etihad Payments, supporting the UAE’s cashless society initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Lead month‑end closing, preparing journal entries, accruals, depreciation and amortisation.
• Produce reporting packs comparing budgets to actuals and deliver month‑end management reports (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow).
• Maintain the chart of accounts, general ledger and perform balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Coordinate with business stakeholders as a finance business partner and support HR in payroll processing.
• Ensure integrity of accounting data, compliance with policies, internal controls and applicable laws.
• Prepare VAT returns and manage treasury operations including bank payments and banking relationships.
• Collaborate with internal and external auditors and support ERP implementation.
• Assist the Finance Head with management reports, presentations and ad‑hoc analytical requests.

Required profile

• Master’s or bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance with professional qualification (CA, ACCA, CPA, CFA preferred).
• Minimum 5 years of experience in financial accounting and reporting.
• Prior experience in a similar role, preferably within the UAE.
• Strong knowledge of technical accounting and auditing standards, financial planning and analysis.
