Fitout Site Engineer

About the role

The Site Engineer - Interior Fit-Out supervises and coordinates all on-site interior fit-out activities so that projects are completed safely, on time, within budget and in line with approved drawings, specifications and quality standards. The role covers commercial, residential, hospitality, retail and office developments and involves managing subcontractors, coordinating with consultants and clients, and ensuring compliance with project requirements and UAE regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and execute daily site activities and ensure works follow approved shop drawings, specifications and quality standards.
• Coordinate site activities with subcontractors, suppliers, consultants and clients.
• Review architectural, joinery, MEP and shop drawings, resolve technical issues and verify site measurements.
• Prepare work schedules, monitor progress and prepare daily, weekly and monthly progress reports.
• Conduct regular site inspections and coordinate with consultants for inspections and approvals.
• Coordinate with the procurement team for timely delivery of materials and equipment, and monitor labour productivity.
• Manage snagging, inspections, testing, commissioning and project handover.
• Ensure compliance with UAE health, safety and environmental regulations and assist in resolving technical issues.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture or a related field.
• Minimum 4-8 years of experience in interior fit-out projects in the UAE/GCC.
• Proven experience in high-end commercial, hospitality, residential, retail and office fit-outs.
• Familiarity with UAE building regulations, authority requirements and HSE standards.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of interior fit-out construction methods, materials and finishing works.
• Ability to interpret architectural, structural, joinery and MEP drawings.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
• Working knowledge of project planning software such as MS Project or Primavera P6 is an advantage.
