Founding Software Engineer

About the role

Verea is an early‑stage startup building the invisible operating system for field sales. As a Founding Software Engineer you will join the founding team, work directly with the founders, and own critical parts of the product from day one. This full‑time role offers equity and the chance to shape both the technology and the company.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build enterprise integrations for CRM/ERP systems such as Dynamics 365, Salesforce, Google Workspace, and Notion, using Nango or custom solutions.
• Manage complex authentication and data flows, including OAuth2, OpenID Connect, JWT, webhooks, sync strategies, rate limiting, and retry logic.
• Develop event‑driven, asynchronous architectures with workers, queues, and background jobs to ensure reliable, scalable data pipelines.
• Implement observability across all integrations using structured logging, metrics, tracing, Grafana LGTM, Prometheus, and eBPF where relevant.
• Own the full API lifecycle: versioning, documentation, security best practices, and privacy‑by‑design.
• Create sandbox test environments, map data models, and validate flows, signing off on every release.

Required profile

• 4+ years of backend or integration engineering experience.
• Strong ownership mindset and desire to build products from the ground up.
• Comfort working in a fast‑changing, ambiguous startup environment.
• Ability to collaborate closely with founders and make autonomous technical decisions.
