Fuels Systems Technician

About the role

The Fuels Systems Technician will be responsible for the inspection, preventive maintenance and repair of water and fuel handling equipment for military ground‑vehicle fueling operations. The role requires hands‑on work with automated fuel handling, tank gauging and leak detection systems at retail and bulk distribution sites.

Key responsibilities

• Perform inspection, preventive and corrective maintenance on Automated Fuel Handling Equipment (AFHE), Automated Tank Gauging (ATG), Independent Alarm Systems (IAS), Electronic Leak Detection (ELD), Overfill Protection Equipment (OPE) and Hydrant Fueling Automation Maintenance (HFAM).
• Maintain Automated Fuel Service Station (AFSS) systems and associated communication devices (modem, radio).
• Execute cross‑connection control procedures and ensure all personnel have completed the required training.
• Provide annual pipeline leak‑detection certification and quarterly testing for Hansa and Vista leak‑detection systems.
• Support Leak Manager functions via Fuels Manager Defense (FMD) systems and supply documentation of certifications when requested.

Required profile

• Minimum three (3) years of experience in fuel systems maintenance and repair.
• Manufacturer‑issued certifications for at least one of the following: ATG, ELD, IAS, OPE, HFAM, AFSS equipment.
• Completed Cross‑Connection Control training.
• Ability to provide proof of qualifications to the Contracting Officer Representative (COR) upon request.
