Full Stack Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Full Stack Engineer to help build and improve Local’s QR‑based payment, ordering and loyalty platform serving hospitality and healthcare venues across the GCC. You will work on both the Next.js front‑end and the backend services, delivering features that impact hundreds of venues.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain full‑stack features spanning frontend, backend, APIs and third‑party integrations.
• Enhance customer‑facing products such as QR payments, digital ordering, menus and loyalty programmes.
• Work with the existing PHP backend while contributing to modernization using newer technologies.
• Integrate with restaurant POS systems (e.g., Foodics, GrubTech) and payment providers.
• Write clean, tested and well‑documented code and participate in code reviews.
• Debug and resolve production issues across the platform.
• Collaborate with product and operations teams to translate requirements into solutions.

Required profile

• 2‑4 years of professional full‑stack development experience.
• Proficiency with React and Next.js.
• Backend experience with at least one of Go, Python, Ruby on Rails, Node.js (PHP experience is a plus).
• Familiarity with AWS or other cloud platforms.
• Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Understanding of relational databases and data modelling.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment and communicate effectively.
