Furniture Production Manager

About the role

Careers International is recruiting a Furniture Production Manager in Dubai to oversee the entire upholstered furniture development cycle, from client estimate through concept to delivery. The role covers production scheduling, procurement, cost control and new product development.

Key responsibilities

• Generate accurate client estimates and create drawings for client approval and frame orders, ensuring outside vendors meet frame specifications.
• Manage orders, shipping and receipt of frames to the upholstery workroom, and oversee production schedules covering materials, fabrication and information management.
• Coordinate final client approvals, deliveries and installations, and ensure documentation is complete for final billing.
• Travel to job sites and vendors as needed.
• Procure materials such as frames, foam, fiber, fabric and supplies, and communicate deadlines and status updates.
• Collaborate with management on production planning and timelines, distribute weekly action plans and hold regular check-ins with the workroom team.
• Create and maintain a production process manual with visuals.
• Manage department costs proactively, explore new vendors to reduce costs while keeping quality high, and keep the department area maintained and organised.
• Work with management on long-term product development, including design concepts for proprietary designs and internal systems for running lines.

Required profile

• 4+ years of experience in furniture manufacturing.
• Positive, upbeat personality able to inspire and motivate staff in a team environment.
• Strong work ethic, highly organised, detail-oriented and proactive.
• Excellent communication skills, diplomacy and discretion, with professional interaction with clients, vendors and the production team.
• Enjoys a fast-paced creative environment and has a passion for home and furniture design and production.
