HSE Officer (Marine Workshop)

About the role

SEA BRIGHT SHIP MANAGEMENT & OPERATION LLC is looking for an experienced HSE Officer to support its marine workshop operations in Dubai. The successful candidate will promote workplace safety, ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations and implement effective risk management measures. The position is full time, with an estimated salary of AED 6,500 to AED 9,500 per month.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with company HSE policies, procedures and applicable safety standards.
• Conduct workplace inspections, safety audits and risk assessments to identify hazards.
• Recommend and implement corrective and preventive measures.
• Monitor the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and enforce safety requirements.
• Hold toolbox talks and safety awareness sessions.
• Investigate incidents, prepare reports and follow up on corrective actions.
• Maintain HSE records, inspection reports and compliance documentation.
• Monitor safe working practices during welding, cutting, grinding, lifting, hot work and confined space activities, and ensure permit-to-work systems are followed.

Required profile

• At least 3 years of HSE experience in a marine workshop, shipyard, fabrication workshop or heavy industrial setting.
• NEBOSH, IOSH or an equivalent health and safety certification preferred.
• Strong communication, reporting, organisational and problem-solving skills, with a high level of responsibility and attention to detail.

Required skills

• Practical knowledge of welding, cutting, grinding, lifting, hot work and confined space safety.
• Ability to carry out risk assessments, safety audits and incident investigations.
• Good understanding of HSE regulations, permit-to-work systems and PPE requirements.
