General Accountant - Travel Industry

About the role

A well-established company in Al Ain is looking for a reliable and detail-oriented General Accountant to handle day-to-day accounting operations, ensure accurate financial reporting and support management in maintaining a strong financial control environment. The position is full time.

Key responsibilities

• Handle general accounting tasks including journal entries, reconciliations and month-end closing.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections.
• Prepare financial statements, management reports and budget analyses.
• Monitor company expenses and help prepare VAT returns and other statutory reports.
• Verify and reconcile supplier invoices, especially those related to travel bookings and services.
• Coordinate with internal departments to keep accounting records accurate.
• Support annual audits by providing schedules and documentation.
• Maintain proper filing and record keeping of all financial transactions.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• 2-3 years of accounting experience, preferably in the travel or service industry.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and UAE VAT regulations.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy with financial data.
• Strong communication and organisational skills; able to work independently and manage several priorities.
• Analytical mindset with problem-solving ability.
• Willingness to be based in Al Ain.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software such as Tally or QuickBooks.
• Familiarity with travel booking systems and supplier reconciliation processes.
