Glass-Reinforced Epoxy Inspector

About the role

The Glass-Reinforced Epoxy (GRE) Inspector inspects and verifies the quality of GRE, GRP (Glass-Reinforced Plastic) and HDPE (High-Density Polyethylene) materials and piping systems in industrial projects. The role covers materials, installation, joints, testing and workmanship, ensuring compliance with approved drawings, project specifications and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect GRE, GRP and HDPE pipes, fittings and materials against approved specifications and project requirements.
• Verify material identification, dimensions, condition, certificates and traceability.
• Check piping installation, alignment, supports, handling, storage and joint preparation.
• Monitor joining activities such as adhesive bonding, lamination, butt fusion or electrofusion, and verify jointing parameters, workmanship and curing.
• Witness or review pressure tests, leak tests and other required inspections.
• Ensure compliance with approved drawings, method statements, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and manufacturer recommendations.
• Identify defects and non-conformities, coordinate corrective actions and maintain inspection reports, material records, jointing logs and test reports.
• Coordinate with construction teams, QA/QC personnel, contractors and client representatives, and follow site safety procedures.

Required profile

• Technical Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 8-10 years of relevant experience in GRE, GRP and/or HDPE materials and piping systems.
• Ability to interpret piping drawings, specifications, method statements and ITPs.
• Good communication, reporting and site coordination skills.

Required skills

• Practical knowledge of composite and thermoplastic piping materials, fittings, installation and joining techniques.
• Knowledge of material inspection, jointing procedures, pressure testing and quality documentation.
