Guest Service Assistant - Jebel Jais Viewing Deck Platform

About the role

The Guest Service Assistant provides excellent customer service to visitors at the Jebel Jais Viewing Deck Platform in Ras Al Khaimah, the UAE's highest mountain. The role welcomes guests, manages ticket sales and payments, gives information on attractions, promotes additional experiences and ensures a safe, enjoyable visit. The position is outdoors in a mountain environment, on an operational shift roster including weekends and public holidays.

Key responsibilities

• Welcome guests, give accurate information on the platform, facilities, attractions and safety guidelines, and help with special requirements
• Handle guest concerns and complaints professionally, escalating to the Team Leader when needed
• Sell tickets, bookings and additional purchases via the POS system, accept cash and card payments and record transactions accurately
• Keep cash floats secure, reconcile cash daily and promote upselling of experiences and offers
• Keep ticket counters and reception areas clean and organized, manage queues during busy periods and follow health, safety and operational procedures
• Report safety hazards and maintenance issues to the Team Leader, assist with emergency procedures and support opening and closing routines

Required profile

• Previous experience in customer service, hospitality, retail, ticketing or cashier operations is preferred; entry-level candidates with strong communication skills may be considered
• Good verbal communication in English; Arabic is essential, and fluency in both Arabic and English is preferred
• Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather, including weekends and public holidays
• Friendly, approachable, honest and reliable when handling payments, with strong teamwork and adaptability

Required skills

• Basic numerical skills and accurate cash handling
• Ability to operate or quickly learn POS and ticketing systems
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, guest-facing environment
