Head of Category – Technology

About the role

An established technology procurement leader is sought to own a strategic, business‑critical category within a major UAE organisation. The role involves shaping procurement strategy, managing high‑value supplier relationships and influencing senior commercial decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute technology and IT services procurement strategies aligned with organisational goals.
• Partner with senior technology and business leaders to influence major procurement decisions and investment programmes.
• Lead complex sourcing initiatives, high‑value negotiations and strategic supplier agreements.
• Manage critical technology supplier relationships, ensuring commercial value, service excellence and risk mitigation.
• Identify and deliver cost optimisation, commercial improvement and long‑term value opportunities.
• Drive procurement best practices, strengthen governance and contribute to function transformation.

Required profile

• Extensive senior‑level experience in technology/IT procurement within a large, complex organisation.
• Proven track record of leading substantial technology procurement portfolios and strategic sourcing programmes.
• Demonstrable experience managing and developing high‑performing procurement teams.
• Strong commercial expertise across technology supplier markets and complex negotiations.
• Excellent executive stakeholder management and ability to influence senior leadership.
