Head of Energy – Solar & Telecom Projects (Cameroon)

About the role

The company is seeking an experienced Head of Energy to lead its energy business and project execution across Cameroon, focusing on solar, hybrid and telecom power solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the planning, execution and O&M of solar power projects and solar farms, including EPC and site‑level implementation.
• Drive deployment of solar, hybrid, battery storage and energy solutions for telecom and infrastructure projects.
• Manage end‑to‑end project lifecycle: planning, engineering, procurement, installation, commissioning and operations & maintenance.
• Oversee telecom infrastructure projects, especially BTS/site power and energy systems.
• Manage EPC contractors, vendors, consultants and local project teams to ensure delivery within scope, timeline, quality and budget.
• Develop project plans, CAPEX budgets, resource plans and execution strategies while monitoring performance and mitigating risks.

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience in renewable energy, solar, telecom infrastructure or related sectors.
• Hands‑on experience delivering utility‑scale or commercial/industrial solar projects.
• Strong understanding of solar PV, battery storage (BESS), hybrid power systems, diesel generators and off‑grid/on‑grid solutions.
• Proven ability to manage large‑scale projects, EPC contractors and multi‑location teams.
• Fluency in French is mandatory; English is an advantage.
• Bachelor’s/Master’s in Electrical Engineering, Energy, Renewable Energy or related field; PMP or MBA is a plus.
