Head of User Research (Remote)

About the role

We are partnering with a leading foundational AI lab to lead user research that trains cutting‑edge language models on professional document, spreadsheet, and slide‑deck tasks. This remote, flexible role focuses on creating, evaluating, and refining AI‑generated outputs across core workflows.

Key responsibilities

• Design and execute moderated usability tests, synthesize findings into decks, and produce journey‑map documents.
• Conduct customer interview synthesis, thematic coding, and create summary reports.
• Develop survey instruments, perform statistical analysis, and write up insights.
• Create discussion guides, screener criteria, and manage research repository tagging.
• Translate research insights into product recommendations and AI‑generated document improvements.

Required profile

• 4+ years of experience conducting customer or user research (interviews, usability testing, surveys) with full‑study lifecycle ownership.
• Fluency in thematic coding methods, survey design, and statistical analysis.
• Expert‑level craftsmanship in documents, spreadsheets, and slide decks with strong written communication.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to translate raw data into actionable insights.
