Head of Year – Primary

About the role

Aldar Education is seeking an outstanding Head of Year (Primary) for Muna British Academy in Abu Dhabi, starting January 2027. The role leads the primary department, shaping strategy, curriculum and staff performance in a rapidly expanding, award‑winning school.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement departmental policies aligned with the school’s vision and high standards of achievement.
• Use data to identify under‑achieving students and create action plans, including provision for SEN/POD, G&T and EAL.
• Ensure curriculum coverage, continuity and progression for all learners, and evaluate teaching quality to drive improvement.
• Manage staff performance, hold regular department meetings and maintain a collaborative, high‑professional‑standard team.
• Control departmental budgets, resources and health‑and‑safety compliance, creating a safe and stimulating learning environment.

Required profile

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field with PGCE or teaching qualification.
• At least 3 years of teaching experience on the English National Curriculum.
• Passion for whole‑child education, professionalism and a clean enhanced DBS/police check.
