Homeroom Teacher - Charter School (Abu Dhabi)

About the role

Aldar Education is recruiting a homeroom teacher for Abdulla Bin Otaiba Charter School (AY 27/28) in Abu Dhabi. The school follows the US curriculum and serves over 1500 students from KG2 to Grade 5. The successful candidate will align with the school's core values of respect, collaboration, passion, integrity and excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver engaging lessons that meet curriculum requirements and cater to the whole ability range in the class
• Observe and assess students, record progress in Target Tracker and use assessment data to inform planning and intervention
• Give feedback to parents and carers on progress at parent-teacher conferences and other meetings
• Manage the class effectively, follow the school's behaviour policy and act as a positive role model
• Work with colleagues, curriculum support staff and professionals such as speech and language therapists, occupational therapists and educational psychologists where needed
• Take responsibility for the progress of a class and run a weekly ECA each term
• Support curriculum action groups, school events and weekend or evening activities, and communicate with parents through systems such as CPOMS

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in the related subject with PGCE or another teacher qualification
• Minimum 1-2 years of teaching experience
• Clean enhanced DBS check or police check
• Experience working with students for whom English is not their first language
• Commitment to educating the whole child and recent involvement in extra-curricular activities
