Hospital Pharmacist

About the role

The American Hospital Dubai is seeking a qualified pharmacist to lead safe and efficient medication distribution within the hospital. You will ensure compliance with Dubai Health Authority regulations while providing drug information and patient counseling.

Key responsibilities

• Review physician orders, dispense medications, and monitor patient medication profiles to prevent interactions and adverse reactions.
• Maintain the Pharmacy Patient Medication Profile, input orders during system downtime, and ensure accurate record‑keeping.
• Supervise pharmacy technicians and support staff, oversee controlled‑drug registers, and ensure a clean, orderly pharmacy environment.
• Manage medication stock levels, conduct inventory cycles, handle expired or obsolete stock, and coordinate inter‑hospital transfers.
• Provide patient education on medication use, side effects, and over‑the‑counter options.
• Generate controlled‑drug reports, document incident and adverse‑reaction reports, and support drug utilization review programs.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy with a current home‑country registration.
• Active Dubai Health Authority (DHA) license.
• Minimum three years of pharmacy experience, preferably in a hospital or clinic setting.
• Fluent written and spoken English; Arabic is a plus.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time‑management abilities.

• Proficient use of ERP systems for pharmacy operations.
