Hotel Painter / Maintenance Technician

About the role

A full-time, non-management Painter is needed at a Le Méridien hotel in Dubai. The role covers guest repair requests, painting and surface preparation, and basic maintenance across the property, with a preference for candidates who have some hotel engineering or maintenance experience.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to and resolve guest repair requests and communicate with guests about maintenance issues.
• Perform preventive maintenance on tools, kitchen and mechanical room equipment, including cleaning and lubrication, and visually inspect tools, equipment and machines.
• Carry out surface preparation, painting, minor drywall and wood trim repair, and replace light bulbs and A/C filters.
• Test, troubleshoot and repair equipment, plumbing (plunge toilets, unclog drains), electrical components, lamps, switches and outlets, and other guestroom items.
• Program TVs, perform general housekeeping and engineering-related inventory duties, and use the Lockout/Tagout system before maintenance work.
• Maintain maintenance inventory, requisition parts and supplies, and report daily activities and problems to other shifts.
• Repair interior and exterior landscaping and sprinklers, and enter air handler schedules and make temperature changes on a computer.
• Welcome guests, follow safety and security policies, and keep a clean, professional appearance.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent preferred.
• Some experience in general maintenance, exterior and interior surface preparation and painting; hotel engineering or maintenance experience is a plus.
• No supervisory experience required.
• Driver's license required.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of air conditioning and refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems, carpentry and finish skills, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation and general building.
• Basic computer skills, including inputting air handler schedules and changing temperatures.
