Housekeeping Manager

About the role

The Housekeeping Manager will lead the day‑to‑day housekeeping operations at Mandarin Oriental Downtown, Dubai, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene and presentation across the property. Reporting to the Executive Housekeeper, you will work closely with the Front Office and Engineering teams to deliver a seamless guest experience in a luxury hotel environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, motivate, train and develop the housekeeping team, conducting regular appraisals and creating training plans.
• Oversee cleaning schedules, inventory control, minibar management and preventive maintenance programmes.
• Monitor productivity, audit quality against brand standards (Forbes, LQA, MOQA, FLHSS&E) and implement cost‑effective operational improvements.
• Respond promptly to guest requests, handle complaints, manage service recovery and ensure guest preferences are met.
• Coordinate with Front Office and Engineering to ensure smooth operations and support emergency situations.

Required profile

• Secondary school diploma; hospitality qualification or bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Hotel Management or Business Management is advantageous.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a luxury hotel, with at least 2 years in housekeeping operations; Middle East or pre‑opening experience is a strong plus.
• Strong verbal and written English communication skills; Arabic is beneficial.
• Excellent planning, organisational, multitasking and problem‑solving abilities, with a professional appearance.
• Physically able to stand for extended periods and flexible to work overnight shifts and varying schedules.
