HR External Relations Specialist - Security Clearance

About the role

This role reviews all applications for employment with the Bank, covering the end-to-end process for security clearance cases, escalations, notifications of possible risk factors and case closures. It sits within the HR function and involves close interaction with the Central Intelligence Department (CID) and other government entities.

Key responsibilities

• Process complex and sensitive security clearance applications for new candidates on FAB contracts and subsidiary companies.
• Manage the relationship with CID officials to secure a competitive advantage in governance and turnaround time.
• Review application documentation to ensure compliance with CID security clearance submission standards.
• Create and maintain status reports and records of applications sent to CID for management reporting under Service Line Agreements.
• Ensure candidate and staff matters relating to security clearance are handled in a timely and efficient manner.
• Track and report on CID turnaround times and escalated clearance matters.
• Communicate outcomes of sensitive CID applications and escalations to senior HR leadership.
• Advise on documentation and regulatory requirements, update stakeholders on changes and manage strategy to avoid delays to business unit requirements.
• Provide proactive customer service to internal and external stakeholders in line with Service Level Agreements.
• Work within Group policies and governance frameworks and take decisions according to the approved authorisation matrix.

Required profile

• Full understanding of current UAE laws and legislation on security clearance for employment.
• Excellent relationships with Abu Dhabi government entities and ability to hold high-level discussions with government representatives.
• Knowledge of English and Arabic (spoken and written).

Required skills

• Computer literacy (MS Office).
• Ability to build and manage relationships with government entities and authorities.
