HR & Training Executive

About the role

The HR & Training Executive will support the People & Culture department of Meliá Desert Palm, a luxury urban resort in Dubai. Reporting to the HR Manager, you will lead recruitment, learning and development, employee activities and HR reporting while ensuring a positive workplace experience.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end recruitment, from sourcing to pre‑employment checks, and partner with department heads to meet staffing needs within approved headcount and budgets.
• Coordinate pre‑arrival arrangements, onboarding, and induction programmes to ensure new colleagues start smoothly.
• Identify training needs, plan and deliver the annual training calendar, support departmental trainers and track mandatory training completion.
• Organise employee activities, recognition programmes and wellbeing initiatives, and support engagement action plans.
• Prepare monthly HR reports on headcount, recruitment, turnover, training and employee activities, highlighting trends and recommendations.
• Handle daily HR operations, colleague queries and routine matters in the HR Manager’s absence, ensuring compliance with UAE Labour Law and hotel policies.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of HR experience with a strong focus on recruitment and learning & development, preferably in luxury hospitality.
• Knowledge of UAE Labour Law, MOHRE processes, visa and onboarding requirements.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and analytical skills; ability to work with a culturally diverse team.
• Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus.
• A degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field is advantageous.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with HR and learning management systems.
