HSE Lead Specialist – Hospital (Healthcare)

About the role

The HSE Lead Specialist will drive health, safety and environmental performance across a hospital property in Abu Dhabi. Reporting to senior management, you will ensure compliance with UAE legislation, ADOSH‑SF, ISO 45001 and ISO 14001, while leading site teams, contractors and incident investigations.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and maintain HSE policies, procedures and programs at site level.
• Ensure compliance with ISO 45001, ISO 14001, ADOSH‑SF and UAE regulatory requirements.
• Maintain HSE registers, risk assessments, inspection records and corrective‑action logs.
• Conduct risk assessments, audits, inspections and report performance metrics.
• Provide visible site HSE leadership, monitor Permit‑to‑Work systems and safe work practices.
• Manage contractor HSE onboarding, review method statements, risk assessments, lifting plans and emergency arrangements.
• Lead incident and near‑miss investigations, root‑cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Deliver HSE inductions, awareness training and maintain competency records.
• Supervise site HSE personnel and prepare reports, dashboards and audit documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, Environmental Science or related field.
• ISO 45001 Lead/Internal Auditor certification and ISO 14001 knowledge.
• ADOSH registration or equivalent and incident investigation training (ICAM or similar).
• Minimum 8 years HSE experience in the UAE, including 2–3 years in a hospital or healthcare environment.
• Proven experience in contractor safety management, PTW systems, audits and inspections.
• Strong knowledge of UAE HSE regulations and ADOSH‑SF.
