Hygiene Officer – Camp & Food Safety

About the role

Target Engineering is looking for a qualified Hygiene Officer to join its EPC project team supporting large‑scale oil & gas operations in the UAE. You will be responsible for maintaining high standards of camp hygiene, food safety, and overall HSE compliance across site facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and maintain Good Hygiene Practices (GHP) and HACCP systems in camp and catering environments.
• Conduct regular audits of kitchens, dining areas, laundry services, and recreational facilities.
• Monitor food suppliers and raw materials to ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Deliver hygiene and food‑safety training to food handlers.
• Maintain HACCP documentation, compliance records, and support HSE initiatives such as site inspections and incident investigations.
• Participate in Permit to Work (PTW), risk assessments, and Safe Systems of Work (SSOW) implementation.

Required profile

• Minimum 3‑5 years of experience in HSE roles with a strong focus on camp hygiene and food safety.
• At least 1 year of experience in oil & gas, petrochemical, or EPC projects.
• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in a relevant field.
• Level 3 Award in HACCP and Level 4 Award in Managing Food Safety.
• NEBOSH IGC or equivalent HSE certification (preferred).

Required skills

• HACCP implementation and audit.
• Good Hygiene Practices (GHP).
• NEBOSH IGC knowledge.
• Understanding of H2S safety measures (preferred).
