In-Room Dining Order Taker

About the role

NH Collection Dubai The Palm, part of Minor Hotels, is looking for a friendly, attentive and service-oriented Order Taker for its Food & Beverage team. The role involves receiving and processing guest orders accurately and efficiently while providing warm, professional service, working closely with the kitchen and the in-room dining team.

Key responsibilities

• Answer in-room dining calls promptly, professionally and courteously.
• Take food and beverage orders accurately and enter them into the POS system.
• Maintain knowledge of menus, ingredients, preparation methods, promotions and opening hours, and give menu recommendations.
• Communicate dietary requirements, allergies and special requests to the kitchen and service team.
• Promote menu items and apply upselling techniques.
• Confirm orders with guests, including quantities, special requests, delivery time and charges.
• Follow up on pending orders and handle guest inquiries, escalating concerns to the supervisor or manager when needed.
• Process guest bills and charges accurately and keep records of orders and requests.
• Ensure smooth handover between shifts and maintain a clean, organised work area.
• Follow food safety, hygiene and health and safety policies, and perform other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Required profile

• Previous experience in F&B, in-room dining, room service, guest services or a similar hospitality role is preferred.
• Excellent telephone etiquette and strong guest-service orientation.
• Good command of spoken and written English; additional languages are an advantage.
• Strong attention to detail, good organisation and multitasking skills.
