Information Technology Engineer

About the role

The role involves managing on‑premises and Microsoft cloud infrastructure for a client operating offshore oil facilities. The engineer will work on‑site in Jumeirah, Dubai, with occasional travel to the offshore site.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure, cluster and harden Windows Server environments.
• Manage Active Directory, Group Policy Objects and Microsoft Exchange (Hybrid).
• Administer Microsoft 365 suite including SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, Intune, Defender and Purview.
• Design and operate Microsoft Azure and Entra ID services.
• Maintain System Center SCCM and SCOM for patch and monitoring.
• Handle HPE rackmount, blade and Synergy servers, as well as HPE MSA storage.
• Implement backup and disaster recovery using Commvault, Veeam and related solutions.
• Manage email archiving (Arctera Enterprise Vault) and email gateway.
• Monitor infrastructure with Solarwinds and manage endpoint protection (Symantec Endpoint Protection).
• Oversee mobile device management, event log management and patching (SCCM, Ivanti).
• Apply ITIL‑based incident and problem management processes.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of experience with on‑premises and Microsoft cloud solutions.
• UAE driving licence and own car (car allowance provided).
• Willingness to travel to offshore oil facilities by boat or helicopter (transport arranged by client).
