Inspector I – Quality (Mechanical – Static/Rotating)

About the role

Petrofac is seeking an Inspector I – Quality for mechanical equipment (static and rotating) to join its Abu Dhabi site team. You will be responsible for ensuring that all mechanical items delivered to the construction site meet client specifications and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out receiving inspections of mechanical equipment, reviewing preservation records.
• Monitor material lay‑down and warehouse areas for proper storage.
• Verify equipment foundations are released by the Civil QC Inspector.
• Maintain periodic preservation records and ensure required testing is performed while in storage.
• Review equipment manuals to determine correct procedures.
• Witness dimensional, alignment, and bolt‑torque checks.
• Facilitate client inspections of all mechanical jobs on site.
• Review equipment certification and documentation for compliance.
• Supervise quality control during erection, mounting, and alignment of rotating equipment.
• Inspect internal cleanliness, perform chemical/mechanical cleaning, flushing, and final assembly checks.
• Coordinate ambient conditions and alignment tolerances with civil inspectors.

Required profile

• Experience conducting mechanical inspections on construction sites.
• Familiarity with preservation records, equipment testing, and documentation review.
• Ability to work closely with civil inspectors and client quality teams.
