IT Governance Specialist

About the role

The IT Governance Specialist will lead the development, implementation, and monitoring of IT governance, compliance, and risk management frameworks to ensure alignment with national digital government standards and international best practices.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and update IT policies, procedures, and standards based on COBIT, ISO 38500, ITIL and other relevant frameworks.
• Monitor compliance across departments, provide corrective guidance, and prepare periodic compliance reports for senior leadership.
• Identify, assess, and document IT risks in collaboration with cybersecurity, PMO and operational teams, and implement mitigation plans.
• Support IT and Digital Transformation strategy development, ensuring project alignment with strategic goals and digital government priorities.
• Create performance indicators, monitor service performance against SLAs, and produce monthly and quarterly dashboards.
• Maintain governance documentation, coordinate audit activities, and address audit findings.
• Ensure adherence to Sharjah Digital Government and UAE digital governance requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science or a related field.
• 3–7 years of experience in IT governance, compliance, or risk management.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with excellent communication skills for senior‑level reporting.
