IT Release Manager

About the role

Envision Employment Solutions is recruiting an IT Release Manager for a partner, a leading digital bank. The role shapes how the bank releases safely and at speed, building the controls, evidence and automated pathways that let teams deploy independently. For higher-risk or coordinated releases, the manager enables the Change Advisory Board (CAB) to make go/no-go decisions based on testing, security, operational readiness and business impact.

Key responsibilities

• Build and oversee a release process supported by automated CI/CD pipelines, covering 20-30 feature deployments per day.
• Set up risk-based release pathways so routine changes deploy automatically once quality, security and operational controls pass.
• Coordinate major and cross-team releases across development, QA, infrastructure, security, operations and business teams.
• Act as a CAB member and drive go/no-go decisions for higher-risk releases using test results, defects, security findings and readiness criteria.
• Embed quality, security and audit evidence into delivery pipelines and reduce reliance on manual sign-off.
• Automate production validation where possible, including smoke tests, health checks and critical customer journeys.
• Maintain the release calendar for major changes, dependencies, business events and restricted periods.
• Use release and reliability metrics to improve delivery speed, quality and operational resilience.

Required profile

• 7+ years in release management, software delivery, DevSecOps or change enablement.
• Experience in continuous delivery, automated deployments and independently deployable services.
• Practical working knowledge of ITIL release and change management in agile and DevSecOps environments.
• Background in QA, security testing, performance testing and production readiness.
• Strong judgement on which changes to automate and which need extra oversight.
• Financial-services and regulatory experience is valuable but not essential.
