Junior Backend Engineer

About the role

Dubai Holding Group Services, the shared-services arm of Dubai Holding, is hiring a Junior Backend Engineer for an on-site position in Dubai. You will help develop and maintain scalable backend systems that support the group's diverse business needs.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement backend solutions to improve system performance.
• Work with frontend developers to integrate user-facing elements.
• Help design and optimise databases for efficient data retrieval.
• Write clean, maintainable and efficient code following established standards.
• Take part in code reviews to ensure quality and best practices.
• Troubleshoot and debug applications to improve their functionality.
• Contribute to the documentation of systems and processes.
• Keep up with emerging technologies and industry trends.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Proven experience in backend development with relevant technologies.

Required skills

• Familiarity with RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
• Understanding of database management systems and SQL.
• Desired: experience with cloud services and deployment strategies.
• Desired: knowledge of containerisation tools such as Docker or Kubernetes.
