Junior Echocardiographer / Echo Technician

About the role

Royal Health Specialized One Day Surgery in Al Ain is hiring a full-time Junior Echocardiographer / Echo Technician. The role covers performing cardiac imaging tests such as echocardiograms and non-imaging cardiovascular evaluations, and assisting in transesophageal echocardiography.

Key responsibilities

• Perform echocardiograms and other cardiovascular evaluations such as exercise tolerance tests, Holter monitoring, event recorders, 24-hour ambulatory blood pressure monitoring and electrocardiograms.
• Obtain patient history, explain procedures and follow pre-screening policies.
• Select the appropriate imaging device, position the patient and prepare them for the procedure.
• Analyze images and data and provide them to the physician for interpretation.
• Monitor the patient during the procedure and report changes or emergencies to clinical staff, supervisors and cardiologists.
• Maintain accurate patient documentation, including computerized records.
• Perform general office duties: maintain stock, assist with purchasing, record procedure codes for billing and schedule patients.
• Maintain equipment and supplies, troubleshoot faults and escalate issues to engineers, supervisors and cardiologists.

Required profile

• Graduate from an accredited school of Cardiac Technology.
• 6 months of internship in cath lab technology.
• Current license in the country of origin and a DOH license to practice in the UAE.
• Two years of recent related work experience as a Cardiology Tech or Interventional/Special Procedure Technologist (or equivalent).
• Excellent command of spoken and written English; Arabic is advantageous but not essential.
• Ability to adapt to a group practice in an industrial environment.
