Junior Mechanical Engineer (UAE National)

About the role

This junior mechanical engineer position supports the mechanical design team in developing, reviewing and preparing designs, drawings, calculations and technical documents in line with project requirements, applicable codes and company standards. The role assists senior engineers with design coordination and offers practical experience in mechanical engineering design within a consultancy environment. It is based in Abu Dhabi.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in designing and drafting mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing and piping, using AutoCAD, Revit or similar software
• Carry out basic engineering calculations such as heat load, pressure drop and flow rates
• Help prepare technical drawings, specifications and documentation for mechanical designs
• Take part in field inspections, gather data and assist in commissioning mechanical systems
• Take part in multidisciplinary project coordination with electrical, structural and architectural teams
• Prepare and maintain project documentation, including reports, as-built drawings and revisions

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
• 0-3 years of experience in mechanical design or related engineering projects; internships or co-op experience are beneficial
• Basic understanding of mechanical engineering principles, including thermodynamics, fluid mechanics and material science
• Effective written and verbal communication skills

Required skills

• Familiarity with mechanical design software such as AutoCAD, Revit or SolidWorks
• Proficiency in drafting and modelling mechanical systems
