Junior Sheet Metal Designer

About the role

A manufacturer in the UAE is hiring a Junior Sheet Metal Designer with hands-on experience in sheet metal design and fabrication. Only candidates currently based in the UAE are eligible.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare shop drawings and fabrication drawings for sheet metal components and assemblies.
• Develop flat patterns, bend allowances and unfolding details.
• Prepare CNC laser cutting, punching and bending programs.
• Review technical drawings and project specifications.
• Coordinate with engineering and production teams to ensure manufacturability.
• Maintain drawing accuracy, revisions, tolerances and design documentation.
• Support production teams in resolving design and fabrication issues.

Required profile

• 1-3 years of experience in sheet metal design and fabrication.
• Mandatory UAE experience in a sheet metal manufacturing industry or factory; candidates without it will not be considered.
• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Design, Drafting Technology or a related field.

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks or equivalent 3D sheet metal software.
• Good knowledge of laser cutting, punching, bending, welding and finishing.
• Understanding of bend radius, K-factor, material thickness and tolerances.
• Experience with electrical enclosures, cabinets and panel bodies is an advantage.
