About the role
The Junior Sommelier will oversee bar operations at Qasr Al Sarab Desert Resort, ensuring a high‑quality guest experience through expert wine service and cocktail preparation.
Key responsibilities
- Manage bar staff, oversee daily operations, and maintain visual appeal of the bar area.
- Provide wine recommendations, pairings, and serve wine and beverages following proper techniques.
- Support ordering, receiving, and inventory of wine deliveries, including cellar organization and stock rotation.
- Develop and maintain cocktail menus, create new recipes, and ensure cost‑control practices.
- Conduct quality‑assurance audits, lead beverage promotions, and maintain POS (micros) pricing.
Required profile
- Passion for hospitality and delivering exceptional guest service.
- Ability to work onsite, perform opening and closing duties, and uphold cleanliness standards.
Required skills
- Proficiency with POS systems (micros).
- Knowledge of wine regions, vintages, varietals, and producers.
- Experience in cocktail creation and inventory management.
