About the role
The Junior Sous Chef will supervise and coordinate kitchen staff, ensure food presentation standards, and maintain quality and safety in a busy hotel environment.
Key responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate activities of cooks and workers.
- Determine food presentation, create decorative displays, and ensure proper portioning and garnish.
- Monitor food preparation quantities and inform service staff of menu specials and out‑of‑stock items.
- Prepare special meals or substitute items and assist kitchen staff with various tasks.
- Maintain kitchen logs for food safety, monitor stock of supplies, and ensure quality of food items.
- Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, and coaching employees.
- Follow company safety policies, report maintenance needs, and maintain a professional appearance.
Required profile
- Technical, trade, or vocational school degree.
- 4 to 6 years of related culinary experience.
- At least 2 years of supervisory experience.
