Junior Structural Design Engineer (UAE National)

About the role

This junior structural design engineer position supports the development and delivery of high-quality structural designs in line with client requirements, project objectives, applicable engineering standards and NCO procedures. The role assists senior structural engineers in preparing structural models, calculations, drawings and technical documentation using design and analysis tools. It is based in Abu Dhabi.

Key responsibilities

• Assist senior structural engineers in designing and analysing structural elements for buildings and other infrastructure projects.
• Support the development of structural models and carry out basic engineering calculations under senior engineers' guidance.
• Use structural analysis and design software such as ETABS, SAP2000, STAAD Pro and other relevant tools.
• Prepare and update structural drawings, details, calculations, schedules and technical documents.
• Coordinate with architects, civil engineers, MEP engineers and other disciplines to integrate structural designs into the overall project.
• Review structural drawings for accuracy, consistency and compliance with project requirements and standards.
• Take part in project coordination meetings and report on assigned design tasks.
• Help identify and resolve design discrepancies, technical issues and coordination conflicts.
• Support site inspections where required, checking construction progress against approved drawings and specifications.

Required profile

• 0 to 3 years of experience, preferably in an engineering consultancy.
• Bachelor's degree in Structural or Civil Engineering.
• Understanding of building codes, construction methods and structural behaviour.
• A Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent is a plus.
