Kitchen Steward

About the role

We are looking for a Kitchen Steward to uphold the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene and sustainability in our kitchen. The role supports chefs and the wider team, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for guests and staff.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of all kitchen areas, equipment and utensils in line with HACCP standards.
• Wash, sanitise and store dishes, glassware and cooking utensils promptly, using dishwashing machines and appropriate chemicals.
• Implement waste segregation, recycling and composting procedures in accordance with sustainability policies.
• Support kitchen operations by organising and storing utensils, cookware and ensuring work surfaces are free of debris.
• Monitor and restock cleaning supplies, reporting shortages to the supervisor.
• Adhere to wellness principles by using eco‑friendly cleaning agents and following food safety regulations.
• Assist with set‑up and breakdown of dining areas for events and wellness programmes, and safely transport food and equipment as needed.
• Collaborate with other departments, follow health and safety procedures and report any maintenance issues.

Required profile

• Understanding of HACCP standards and kitchen sanitation procedures.
• Familiarity with the operation of commercial dishwashing machines and eco‑friendly cleaning products.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment.
• Commitment to health, safety and sustainability practices.
