Kitchen Technician

About the role

The First Group Hospitality is looking for a technically skilled and proactive Kitchen Technician to keep kitchen equipment reliable, safe and performing well in an exclusive private members club. The role covers maintenance, troubleshooting and preventive servicing of commercial kitchen equipment, helping minimise downtime and supporting the Culinary team in serving members and guests without interruption.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance of ovens, cooking ranges, dishwashers, refrigeration units and food preparation machinery.
• Diagnose and fix mechanical, electrical and equipment faults quickly to reduce downtime.
• Service equipment according to manufacturer specifications and maintenance schedules.
• Respond to breakdowns and urgent requests, prioritising safety and continuity.
• Coordinate with Culinary, Stewarding and Facilities teams so maintenance does not disrupt daily operations.
• Keep maintenance logs, service histories, inspection records and spare parts inventories up to date.
• Work with external contractors and authorised service providers on specialised repairs, servicing and installations.
• Look for ways to improve reliability, energy efficiency and preventive maintenance.
• Ensure compliance with electrical safety, fire prevention, food safety and UAE health and safety regulations.

Required profile

• Diploma or technical certification in Electrical, Mechanical, Refrigeration, HVAC or a related engineering discipline.
• 3-5 years of hands-on experience maintaining commercial kitchen equipment, preferably in premium hospitality, large-scale catering or high-end dining.
• Strong troubleshooting and repair skills, and familiarity with preventive maintenance systems, equipment manuals and digital maintenance platforms.
• Good organisational and problem-solving skills, able to work independently and coordinate with operational teams and external providers.
