L2 Collaboration Engineer – Cisco CMS & CUCM

About the role

The L2 Collaboration Engineer will be responsible for the design, implementation, and support of Cisco collaboration platforms in an on‑site client environment. This role combines deep technical knowledge of Cisco Meeting Server and CUCM with automation and DevOps practices to ensure reliable, high‑quality communication services.

Key responsibilities

• Configure, manage, and troubleshoot Cisco Meeting Server (CMS) environments, including call bridge clustering, web bridge configuration, database replication, and recorder/streamer services.
• Perform CMS upgrades, health checks, backup validation, and routine maintenance.
• Handle CMS‑related call quality, conferencing, and integration issues, and manage CMS APIs for bulk provisioning.
• Administer Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM), configuring SIP trunks, device pools, regions, calling search spaces, partitions, media resources, LDAP synchronization, and Jabber/Webex integrations.
• Support IP phones, SIP endpoints, and collaboration applications, including upgrades, patches, and cluster maintenance.
• Troubleshoot call routing, registration, media, and voice quality problems.
• Develop Python scripts for health monitoring, log analysis, and automation of routine tasks.
• Utilize REST APIs for system integration and apply DevOps tools such as Git, Ansible, and configuration versioning to streamline infrastructure updates.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience with Cisco Meeting Server and Cisco Unified Communications Manager.
• Proven ability to configure and troubleshoot SIP trunks, device pools, regions, calling search spaces, partitions, and related CUCM components.
• Experience developing automation scripts in Python and using REST APIs for bulk operations.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools, including Git and Ansible.
• Capability to perform system upgrades, health checks, and backup validation in a production environment.
