Laboratory Technician – Process Stream Analysis

About the role

The Laboratory Technician (FRAC) supports the production plant by performing analytical testing, sampling and maintenance of laboratory equipment to ensure reliable data for process optimisation and research.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct quantitative and qualitative laboratory tests following internationally accepted standard methods.
• Collect plant samples using standard sampling procedures and record results in the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and Business Objects reporting software.
• Prepare and standardise chemical reagents, calibration reference materials, calibration gases and inert gases for daily laboratory operations.
• Report instrument faults, perform trial runs on newly installed or repaired equipment, and ensure proper functioning of analysers.
• Maintain accurate inventory records of chemicals, consumables, spares and gases to guarantee timely replenishment.
• Implement and comply with all relevant HSE policies, emergency response duties and housekeeping standards.
• Provide on‑the‑job training for UAE nationalisation programmes and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Document technical data from the field and support reporting activities.

Required profile

• Ability to perform both quantitative and qualitative laboratory analyses.
• Familiarity with standard sampling procedures and laboratory safety practices.
• Competence in using LIMS and Business Objects for data entry and reporting.
• Attention to detail for reagent preparation, calibration and inventory management.
• Willingness to follow HSE guidelines, participate in emergency response and maintain a clean work environment.
